Enroll people from a conversational form
Use the Enroll in Course action to give someone a course from a conversational form — free, or after they pay — and branch on the result.
probusinessYou’ll need: The Pro plan or above, and a course in e-Learning.
The Enroll in Course action gives the person filling in your conversational form access to one of your courses, and emails them a link to start. Use it when you want a form in front of the course — a qualifying questionnaire, an upsell, or a payment with options the course page does not offer.
#Before you start
The form must collect the person’s email before the action runs. Without it, nobody can be enrolled.
#Add the action
- Open the conversational form in the Flow Designer.
- On the step where enrollment should happen, add an action and choose Enroll in Course. It is in the Integration group.
- Under Course, choose the course from Select a course. Each course shows its price, or Free, and whether it is still a draft.
- Publish the form.
#Free courses
Put the action on any step after the email question — usually the last one. The person gets the access email within about a minute.
#Paid courses
Put the action on the step that the Payment Checkout action’s success exit leads to. The course is delivered when the payment is confirmed — even if the buyer pays by PIX or boleto and never comes back to the form.
#Check the result
The action stores its outcome in $ELENROLLSTATUS. Put it in an email to yourself or on a later screen to see what happened:
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
requested |
The enrollment was sent. The access email follows within about a minute |
no_email |
The form has no email for this person yet |
no_course |
The course was not found — it may have been deleted |
error |
Something went wrong. The flow carries on anyway |
The form always moves on, whatever the result, so ask for the email before
this step and make that question required. That rules out no_email.
#When it goes wrong
- The designer says the course is not published yet. Publish the course before the form goes live. Requests for a course that is still a draft are turned down and are not retried after you publish.
- The action is greyed out. e-Learning is not included in this account’s plan.
- Testing in preview does not enroll anyone. In preview the enrollment is only simulated. Test with the published form and a real email address.
