Answer students' questions with an AI tutor

Turn on an AI tutor that answers students' questions about each lesson, using the lesson's content and one of your AI agents.

probusiness

You’ll need: The Pro plan or above, the e-Learning permission at Edit level or higher, and AI credits.

With the AI tutor on, every lesson gets an Ask the tutor panel. Students type a question about the lesson and get an answer right away, without waiting for you.

#Turn it on

  1. Open the course and go to the Settings tab.
  2. In the AI tutor section, tick Turn on the AI tutor for this course.
  3. Under Which AI agent answers, keep Main assistant or pick another of your AI agents.
  4. Optionally, write Extra instructions for the tutor (optional) — for example, Be encouraging. Recommend module 3 for advanced questions.
  5. Choose Save.

#What the tutor knows

Each answer draws on:

  • the business information and instructions of the agent you picked,
  • your extra instructions,
  • the course outline,
  • the text of the lesson the student is on.

The tutor does not see the video itself, only the lesson text. A lesson with a good written summary gets much better answers than a video with no text.

If you have no AI agents yet, the tutor answers from the course content only.

#What students see

On each lesson, students open Ask the tutor, type their question and choose Ask. The panel reminds them that AI answers can be wrong. For anything important, ask your teacher in the comments.

To keep usage under control, each student can ask a handful of questions a minute and a limited number a day.

#What it costs

#Good to know

  • Only enrolled students can ask. Visitors watching a free preview cannot.
  • There is no screen yet for reading the questions students asked the tutor. If you want to see what students struggle with, keep lesson comments on — see Manage your students.
