Add quizzes and a final exam
Test what students learned after a lesson, at the end of a module or at the end of the course, and decide which quizzes they must pass.
probusinessYou’ll need: The Pro plan or above, and the e-Learning permission at Edit level or higher.
Quizzes check what students learned. They can be practice, they can count towards the certificate, or they can block the rest of the course until the student passes.
#Add a quiz
You add quizzes on the course’s Content tab, in three places:
| Where | How |
|---|---|
| After a lesson | The ? icon on the lesson row — Add a quiz after this lesson |
| At the end of a module | + Module quiz on the module row |
| At the end of the course | + Final exam below the last module |
The quiz opens in its own editor.
#Set the rules
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Quiz title and Instructions (optional) | What students see before they start |
| Type | Required to continue, Graded or Practice (below) |
| Pass mark (%) | The score needed to pass. 70% unless you change it |
| Attempts allowed | Leave it on Unlimited, or set a number |
| Time limit (minutes) | Leave it on No limit, or set up to 600 minutes |
| Show correct answers | After each attempt, Only after passing or Never |
| Weight | How much this quiz counts in the certificate average |
| Shuffle questions / Shuffle options | Mixes the order for every attempt |
#Which type to choose
- Required to continue — students must pass it before anything after it opens. Use it as a gate between modules.
- Graded — counts towards the certificate, but does not block anything.
- Practice — for self-checking only. It never counts towards the certificate.
#Add questions
Choose a question type under Add a question:
| Type | How it is marked |
|---|---|
| One answer | Tick the one correct option |
| Several answers | Tick every correct option |
| True / false | Pick True or False |
| Short answer | List the Accepted answers (one per line). Case, accents and extra spaces are ignored |
| Essay | Students write freely. You grade it by hand |
Every question has Points and an optional Explanation shown after answering (optional). Choice questions take up to 12 options.
#Grade essays
Essay answers wait in Grading, on the e-Learning home. For each one, enter the Points (max …), add Feedback for the student (optional), and choose Save grade.
Until you grade it, the student sees Submitted, waiting for grading, and a certificate that depends on that quiz is held back.
#What students see
Students open a quiz from the course content, choose Start quiz, answer, and choose Submit answers. They see Your score, and Try again while they have attempts left. A timed quiz shows its limit before they start.
When a Required to continue quiz blocks the way, the lessons after it show Pass the quiz “…” to unlock that lesson.
