What your students see in the academy
A walk through the academy from a student's side — joining, signing in, watching lessons, taking quizzes and getting the certificate.
Knowing what students see helps you answer their questions — and spot what to fix before you launch. Choose View in academy on the e-Learning home to open your academy yourself.
#The academy home
Your academy lives at learn.tayon.app/your-address, or on your own domain.
Its home page shows a Featured course at the top, a Continue watching
row for signed-in students, and your published courses. Unlisted courses only
open from their direct link.
#Joining a course
The button on a course page depends on the course:

Lessons marked Free preview can be watched before joining. Students who already have an account choose Already a student? Sign in.
#Signing in
New students get an email titled You are in: followed by the course name. Its Start learning button signs them in and asks them to Create your password. That first link works once and expires after 72 hours.
After that they sign in with their email and password, or choose Get a sign-in link by email. A sign-in link works once and expires after 30 minutes.
#Taking a lesson
A lesson page has the video, the lesson text, Materials to download, and the Course content list on the side. Next lesson moves on.
- Video lessons count as completed once the student has watched enough of the video — the Watched to complete (%) you set. Skipping to the end does not count.
- Text lessons are completed with Mark as complete.
When they are on, lessons also show Ask the tutor and a comment box — Ask a question or leave a comment.
#Quizzes and the certificate
Students open a quiz from the course content and choose Start quiz. The course page shows what is still needed under To earn your certificate:, along with their current average.
When they qualify, Download certificate appears on the course page and in My learning, which lists all their courses. Each certificate carries a number and a check address. Anyone opening it sees This certificate is genuine. — or that it was revoked or does not exist.
